Dr. Howard E Reed, PhD

Howard Reed has been Director of
Dubai Women's College (DWC) for 19 years. During
this time Dubai has exploded onto the world scene
and DWC has exploded onto the Dubai scene with over
3500 working graduates. All of DWC's graduates are
UAE Nationals, and many of them are now in key
positions in the most important organizations in
Dubai. This revolution of working local women
filled a void which is still common in many parts of
the Arab world and is an essential part of the
sustainable development equation for the UAE.
Howard received a BSc from the University of South
Dakota, an MBA from the University of California,
Berkeley, and a PhD from the University of
Washington. Both of his graduate degrees had an
international focus and since then he has spent 12
years working in France, England, New Zealand,
Germany, Sweden and Italy, before going to the UAE.
Most of Howard's career has been as a professor or
academic administrator however, he has also had
valuable experience with the US Army, Ford Motor
Corporation, Boeing Corporation, numerous consulting
assignments and travel in most parts of the world.
Howard is perhaps best known for his relentless
focus on improving the quality of learning
through creative use of technology, curriculum
revitalization, faculty professional development and
teamwork, and industry and government partnerships. |
