Saeed Al Muntafiq announced as the new Chairman of Young Arab Leaders
Under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Saeed Al Muntafiq has been announced as the new Chairman of Young Arab Leaders.
Saeed Al Muntafiq will lead the Young Arab Leaders, a regional organization which was created in 2004 and aims to improve the state of the Arab world by creating the necessary environment for future leaders to grow and develop across all sectors of Arab society.
Initiatives such as the mentorship programme - which commits a YAL member to personally mentor young promising men and women entering the member's professional sector - and the internship prgramme - available in different sectors and consists of role rotations in different areas of corporate operations - are fundamental to achieving the organization's goals and realizing the potential of Arab youth. Other initiatives include knowledge exchanges, scholarships, sourcebook and dialogue exchange, reflecting YAL's ongoing commitment to Arab youth.
Al Muntafiq has been the Chair of the UAE Chapter of the Young Arab Leaders since 2005. The UAE Chapter was officially launched last year and has since initiated a series of projects including Alf Yad, a regional venture capital initiative consisting of 10 private equity funds to be launched over the next 10 years and will raise and deploy AED 1 billion in private equity investments throughout the region. An agreement has been signed with INJAZ programme to strengthen communication networks among young leaders, in addition to providing scholarships at Wharton University and the American University in Dubai and training opportunities in the Jumeirah hospitality group.
Moreover, Al Muntafiq oversaw the successful expansion of its membership base, which now includes more than 70 members who are leaders from all major sectors in the UAE such as manufacturing, real-estate, consultancy, financial, government, art, media and many more.
Al Muntafiq's track record of achievements is extensive - he is the CEO of Tatweer, a member of Dubai Holding and one of the largest and fastest growing conglomerates in the region. Al Muntafiq is also the Director General of the Dubai Development and Investment Authority where he now heads a team that is responsible for advancing the economic development and growth of Dubai.
'I am honoured to have been entrusted with the responsibility to lead the Young Arab Leaders as it represents one of the biggest and most important agents of change in the region,' said Saeed Al Muntafiq.
'Today we are entering a new phase of growth and prosperity and the need for guidance and role models for our youth has never been more urgent. It is they, who in turn will bear the responsibility of continuing the growth and development process into the future,' concluded Al Muntafiq. |
