Irish Minister of Education Tours DKV
Mary Hanafin, the Irish Minister of Science and Education, toured Knowledge Village accompanied by representatives from Ireland’s leading universities. The delegation’s goal was to enhance their understanding of the education sector in the UAE, in particular KV’s unique ‘cluster’ model.
Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of Knowledge Village, received Minister Hanafin’s delegation and briefed them on the cluster’s activities and strategic vision.
Dr. Ayoub said: “In 2006, Ireland expressed a particular interest in promoting itself as a ‘Knowledge Economy’ with a focus on Science, Technology and Innovation. We see this visit not only as a testament to Ireland’s diligence in achieving its goals, but also to our success in attracting specialized educational institutes to the Gulf region.”
Representatives from over 20 education institutes in Ireland accompanied the Minister of Education, including Galway Business College, the National University of Ireland, the Dublin Institute of Technology and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. |
