Dubai Media City shows 10pc rise in 2006
Dubai Media City (DMC), part of Tecom Investments, has announced a ten per cent increase in the number of new companies setting up base in the media hub.
In 2006, 121 companies opened shop in DMC, bringing the total number of companies in the hub to 1,213, up from 1,092 in 2005, DMC said in a statement. It said it received 467 business enquiries in 2006, 41 per cent of which were from media and marketing firms, followed by consultancies (15 per cent) and new media and media support services (ten per cent).
Tecom’s expansion plans include 27 towers to be built by private investors within the free zone perimetre. The new space is expected to further growth of DMC and other sister divisions operating under the TECOM Investments’ umbrella. |
