Fujairah zone to be largest in region

The Fujairah Free Zone Authority (FFZA) is in the process of carrying out internal expansion work worth Dhs100 million that would make it the larges freezone in the region, FFZA director general Shareef Habib Al Awadhis says. |
The free zone is in the process of opening a new free industrial area on two million square metres, which will be the largest and latest in the region, he added, noting that up to 5,000 workers, employees and technical and administrative staff were expected to be employed in the new industrial area. There is a proposal for twinning the FFZA with a major free zone in the UAE and that full details about this issue would be given in due time, he said.
